Dear Residents.
In the May 2011 Municipal Elections I was elected as a Democratic Alliance Proportional Representative Councillor serving on the City Council of Johannesburg. In this capacity, I serve on 2 oversight Committees: Finance and Municipal Public Accounts. The DA has assigned me to Ward 100 and Ward 114. I will soon be starting DA branches in these Wards and if any resident wants to become member of a DA branch, they are welcome to contact me. I am also on hand to assist with any service delivery queries and complaints. I would like to extend this offer to all residents, irrespective of your political affiliation.
I am looking forward to being of service to you.
Regards
Linus

Dear Cllr Linus
Myself and my neighbours are at our wits end. It is about the illegal development of a mini shopping centre on an agricultural holding in ward 114. I am aware this may not have anything to do with you but my present ward councillor is impossible to get hold of. If you could forward my complaint to the correct people maybe myself and my neighbours can get some peace and quiet in our residential neighbourhood again. It is a long story but basically my offending neighbour has now a restuarant to name but a few shops in the centre and we have to bear with noisy patrons 7 days a week from 10am to 10pm as well as live music all weekends. I logded a complaint with planning control a month ago, I have requested a meeting with Region C's business license department and even queried the issuing of a liquor license to the business without neighbours conscent but am getting no where. And on Friday they started building alteration to extend the restuarant. PLEASE let me know where I and my neighbours can go to get our peaceful neighbourhood restored. Thanking you in advance for your assistance

Cllr Linus Muller
Dear Residents.
Yesterday the MMC for Finance announced structures for Councillors to assist in the escalation of billing complaints. If you need assistance with a billing problem, please send me a blank email with “Regional Billing Complaint” in the subject box. I will respond with a template for you to complete.
Please note, I am only able to assist if you have an 8000 ref number older than 60 days. Please remember that it is illegal for the City to take disconnection or legal action against you if they have not given you 14 days written notice, or if you have an outstanding billing complaint (with 8000 ref number). If you are threatened with any action by the City, please contact me immediately.
Ratepayers are also reminded that while their billing complaints are being resolved, they need to continue making monthly payments equivalent to that of a normal monthly municipal bill – please do not withhold payment from the City. Your account should only be in arrears with the queried amount.
Regards
Linus
